Abstract

Diplomová práca sa venuje otázke dôstojného starnutia a hľadá nové možnosti, ako môže bývanie pre seniorov reagovať na ich meniace sa potreby. Skúma, ako môže architektúra prispieť k vytvoreniu prostredia, ktoré seniorom poskytne nielen potrebnú starostlivosť, ale najmä pocit bezpečia, nezávislosti a domova. Projekt nadväzuje na preddiplomovú prácu, ktorá sa zameriavala na typológiu sociálnych zariadení a analýzu reálnych skúseností seniorov v rôznych formách bývania. Za miesto návrhu bolo zvolené zanedbané územie pri rieke v Poprade, ktoré v sebe skrýva nevyužitý potenciál. Cieľom práce je architektonický návrh, ktorý zohľadňuje fyzické aj psychické potreby seniorov a je plnohodnotným prostredím pre život v starobe.

The thesis addresses the issue of ageing with dignity and seeks new ways in which housing for the elderly can respond to their changing needs. It explores how architecture can be used to create an environment that not only provides seniors with the care they need, but more importantly provides a sense of security, independence and home. The project builds on a pre-diploma project that focused on a typology of social facilities and the analysis of the real experiences of seniors in different forms of housing. The chosen site is a neglected area by the river in Poprad, which holds untapped potential. The aim of the work is an architectural design that takes into account the physical and psychological needs of the elderly and is a fulfilling environment for life in old age.
