dc.description.abstractDiplomová práca sa zaoberá mestom, ktoré sa v posledných desaťročiach stalo fenoménom presahujúcim slovenský kontext. Niekdajšia "strieborná studňa" Uhorska a svojho času najväčšie banské centrum Habsburskej monarchie sa dnes pod hlavičkou UNESCO zaradila medzi úspešné príbehy svetových miest s minulosťou ťažby nerastných surovín, a poskytuje útočisko množstvu turistov aj špecifickej kreatívnej komunite ľudí, prichádzajúcich z celého Slovenska. Sopečné územie Štiavnických vrchov sa prelína s mestskou štruktúrou zasadenou do krajiny, ktorá bola po stáročia pretváraná banskou činnosťou do unikátneho antropomorfného celku. Jeho vnímanie je do veľkej miery "ikonizované" do podoby niekoľkých "reprezentantov" hodnoty Banskej Štiavnice - Kalvária, Starý a Nový zámok, námestie, Klopačka, vrch Sitno... Čo však leží za hranicou záujmu o turistické ciele? Ak by sa dali zjednodušiť hodnoty Banskej Štiavnice na urbánnu a krajinnú, tak záujem tejto diplomovej práce leží presne medzi nimi - v špecifickom území bývalého baníckeho osídlenia svahov nad kompaktným, urbánnym centrom mesta. Kým centrum samotné je pevne zakotvené vo vnímaní "významného historického mesta", banícke osídlenie svahov predstavuje omnoho krehkejšie hodnoty - čo odzrkadľuje aj pamiatková ochrana územia, ktoré bolo oproti centrálnej časti pričlenené do jadrového územia pamiatkovej zóny s výrazným oneskorením. Charakteristická parcelácia, osadenie budov a komunikácií do strmého terénu, tradičné hospodárenie odzrkadľujúce prírodné podmienky a najmä stavby miestnej ľudovej architektúry reflektujúce slohové prvky urbánnej časti mesta sú akýmsi tieňom fenoménu Banskej Štiavnice. Chýbajúca kontinuita trvalého osídlenia, intenzifikácia chalupárskej zástavby a nevhodné úpravy, ktoré vymazávajú roky kultúrneho vrstvenia v krajine, predstavujú veľké výzvy pre uchovanie hodnoty Banskej Štiavnice ako komplexného celku. Práca preto stavia predovšetkým na silnom analytickom základe, ktorý uvádza hodnoty aj problémy tohto špecifického územia do širokého kontextu. Chápanie krehkých kvalít tohto územia práca prenáša do náčrtu malých zásahov, ktoré však nie sú konečným, konkrétnym návrhom, ale skôr zhmotnením princípov ako s územím pracovať koncepčne, no zároveň uchopiteľne. Viac než projektom by preto práca mala byť inšpiráciou - či už pre miestnych aktérov, návštevníkov, ľudí z našich profesií, alebo potenciálnych budúcich, nových trvalých obyvateľov tohto územia, aby zamerali svoju pozornosť aj na miesta periférne a prehliadané, ktorých hodnota je často skrytá v každodennosti a obyčajnosti.cs
dc.description.abstractThe diploma thesis deals with the city, which in the last decades has become a phenomenon that have expanded beyond the Slovak context. The former "silver well" of Hungary and at one time the largest mining centre of the Habsburg monarchy is now a UNESCO-labeled success story among the world's cities with a history of mineral extraction, and provides a haven for tourists as well as for a creative community of people coming from all over Slovakia. The volcanic territory of the Štiavnické Hills is intertwined with an urban structure set in a landscape that has been transformed by centuries of mining activity into a unique anthropomorphic entity. Its perception is largely "iconized" in the form of several "representatives" of the value of Banská Štiavnica - the Calvary, the Old and New Castle, the Square, Klopačka, Sitno Hill... But what lies beyond the interest in tourist destinations? If Banská Štiavnica's values could be simplified into the categories of urban and landscape, the interest of this thesis lies precisely between them - in the specific area of the miner's settlement of the slopes above the compact urban centre of the town. While the centre itself is firmly embedded in the perception of a 'significant historic city', the mining settlement of the slopes represents much more fragile values - as reflected in the monumental protection of the area, which was added to the core zone of the historical town reserve with a significant delay compared to the central part. The characteristic parcelization, the setting of buildings and roads in the steep terrain, the traditional farming reflecting the natural conditions and especially the buildings of local folk architecture reflecting the stylistic elements of the urban part of the town are a kind of shadow of the phenomenon of Banská Štiavnica. The lack of continuity in settlement, the intensification of cottage development and inappropriate landscaping, which erases years of cultural layering in the landscape, pose major challenges to the preservation of the value of Banská Štiavnica as a complex whole. The work therefore builds primarily on a strong analytical foundation that places the values and problems of this specific area in a broader context. The understanding of the fragile qualities of this territory is translated by the thesis into small interventions, which, however, are not a final, concrete proposal, but rather a materialization of principles of a conceptual, yet tangible approach. More than a project, therefore, the work should be an inspiration - whether for local actors, landowners, people in our professions or potential new permanent residents - to focus their attention also on the peripheral and overlooked places whose value is often hidden in the "everyday" and the ordinary.en
