Volné radikály jsou chemické částice, které obsahují jeden nebo více nepárových elektronů, které mohou být součástí molekuly. Způsobují, že se molekula stává velmi reaktivní.
Volné radikály jsou také známo, že hrají dvojí roli v biologických systémech, protože můžou být
buď prospěšné nebo škodlivé pro živé systémy.
