- ItemInvestigation of MODBUS protocol latency in server-client scenario(Vysoké učení technické v Brně. Fakulta elektrotechniky a komunikačních technologií, ) Filipovska, Marija; Steinbauer, Miloslav; Marcoň, PetrThe aim of the proposed thesis is to test different free and open-sourced libraries for Modbus RTU on a simple test unit comprising a singular ESP32 client and two server units using low power Atmega chipsets. The aim of the thesis is to look at standardized baud rates over different libraries to determine the limits of both the protocol data transmission and read speeds to determine if it is the hardware or software that significantly can alter the behavior of the proposal. The initial assumption is that the low memory capabilities of Atmega pose a significant limitation if in such case the Modbus protocol functions with more than two units.
- ItemDevelopment of a Wireless Charging System Using Resonant Inductive Coupling and Simulation(Vysoké učení technické v Brně. Fakulta elektrotechniky a komunikačních technologií, ) Thant, Myat Mon; Steinbauer, Miloslav; Pokorný, JosefThroughout this thesis, I will explore wireless power transfer (WPT) systems based on resonant inductive coupling. Compensation topologies, coil parameters and other significant parameters such as coupling efficiency, operating frequency, and the effect of ferrite backing will be analyzed as well. A circular coil is selected due to its symmetrical field and efficiency advantages. Series–Series (SS) compensation topology is taken into account due to its simplicity and voltage stability. Simulation tools like ANSYS Maxwell and LTspice are used to supplement theoretical analysis. Power point is used for design. A full circuit design and physical model of the coil will then be developed in the subsequent stage based on the findings elaborated.
- ItemImplementation of Tetris Game on a FPGA(Vysoké učení technické v Brně. Fakulta elektrotechniky a komunikačních technologií, ) Rainha Godoy Santiago, Octávio; Fujcik, Lukáš; Steinbauer, MiloslavThe goal of the thesis is the implementation of the classic game Tetris on a Field- Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The primary objective is to design and develop in Hardware Description Language (HDL) a version of Tetris with a modular approach, incorporating components such as game logic, user input handling through switches, and video output using a VGA module. The result will demonstrate the performance, resource utilization, practical challenges and solutions involved in developing real-time interactive systems on FPGAs.

Fakulta elektrotechniky a komunikačních technologií, ) Abdelreheem, Mohamed; Fujcik, Lukáš; Steinbauer, MiloslavCílem práce je pˇredstavit implementaci neuromorfního Spiking Neural Net- work (SNN) procesoru na FPGA Nexys A7-50T pomocí Vivado 2024. Návrh v jazyce VHDL zahrnuje modul hodin, router spike a 16 neuronu LIF se STDP. Testbench ovˇeˇruje funkˇcnost, demonstruje efektivní zpracování pro neuromorfní výpoˇcty.
- ItemAnalyzing Core Concepts of Communication Technologies in Traditional and SDN Networks(Vysoké učení technické v Brně. Fakulta elektrotechniky a komunikačních technologií, ) Elsayed, Yousef; Hošek, Jiří; Komosný, DanThis thesis explores the foundational concepts of traditional computer networks and introduces the transformative role of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) in modern communication systems. The work begins by laying out the essential elements of traditional networking, including routing, switching, and network segmentation, before shifting focus to the architecture and logic behind SDN. To bridge theory and practice, a set of hands-on labs was developed using Cisco Packet Tracer, allowing for a step-by-step exploration of real-world network scenarios. These labs simulate both traditional and SDN-based setups, offering practical insights into how network behavior changes when central controls are introduced through SDN controller. The thesis aims not only to clarify technical concepts but also to illustrate the benefits of adopting SDN. By comparing traditional configurations with those enhanced by SDN controllers, it becomes evident how centralized management, flexibility can lead to more efficient and scalable network operations.
