Centrum nezávislé kultury

Abstract

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá možnosťou premeny opustenej industriálnej kotolne v areáli bývalej továrne Vlněna na centrum nezávislej kultúry. Vychádza z potreby vytvoriť zázemie pre aktívnu, no priestorovo poddimenzovanú komunitu LARPistov, historických šermiarov a reenactorov v Brne. Projekt reaguje na špecifické potreby tejto komunity a zároveň rešpektuje historický charakter objektu i dynamicky sa meniaci kontext územia. Cieľom je nájsť rovnováhu medzi pamäťou miesta a súčasným mestským životom a navrhnúť priestor, ktorý podporuje spoluprácu, remeslo a kultúrnu tvorbu.

This thesis explores the transformation of an abandoned industrial boiler house, formerly part of the Vlněna textile factory complex in Brno, into a center for independent culture. It responds to the spatial needs of Brno’s vibrant yet under-supported community of LARPers, historical fencers, and reenactors. The project respects the architectural and historical character of the building while engaging with the evolving urban context. Its aim is to create a space that balances memory and modernity—supporting craftsmanship, collaboration, and cultural expression in an open and inclusive environment.
