Súčasné problémy verejných priestorov postindustriálneho mesta

Abstract

Public spaces perform a wide spectrum of tasks in cities, which can be classified as physical, ecological, psychological, social, political, economic, symbolic and aesthetic. Taking into account that the city is made up of public and private spaces, this means that public space is an integral part of the city. Paper discusses the role of public space in the city and changes which came with beginning of post-industrial age. In this context, the paper aims to the most outstanding problems of contemporary public space.Verejné priestory zohrávajú v meste široké spektrum úloh, ktoré môžu byť klasifikované ako fyzické, ekologické, psychologické, sociálne, politické, ekonomické, symbolické a estetické. Ak vezmeme do úvahy, že mesto sa skladá z verejných a súkromných priestorov, znamená to, že verejný priestor je neoddeliteľnou súčasťou mesta. Článok rozoberá úlohy verejného priestoru v meste a zmeny, ktoré priniesla fáza postindustriálneho vývoja. V tomto kontexte sa venuje najvýraznejším problémom súčasného verejného priestoru.
