Abstract

Kampus Prírodovedeckej fakulty Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci má potenciál významnou mierou utvárať podobu v budúcnosti atraktívnej lokality na rozhraní mesta a voľnej krajiny. Navrhovaná budova by nemala byť len ľahko rozpoznateľnou dominantou rozvíjajúcej sa oblasti, ale mala by tvoriť platformu pre vzájomnú interakciu ľudí z akademického prostredia a miestnych obyvateľov, či návštevníkov. Architektonicky svojou ostrou siluetou a surovými materiálmi vytvára kontrast k mäkkým, subtílnym a krehkým formám živej prírody.Being situated at the boundary of the town and the open, the campus of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Palacký University in Olomouc aspires to outline the shape of the locality that has a significant potential to become attractive in the future. The building should not be just an easy recognizable landmark of the developing area but it should also create a platform for a mutual interaction among people from the academic environment, local inhabitants, and visitors. From the architectural point of view, its sharp-edged silhouette and raw materials generate a contrast to soft, subtle, and fragile forms of the surrounding living nature.
