Abstract
Vedle fenoménu urban sprawl, který byl již poměrně bohatě popsán a diskutován, stojí ještě jeden jev, který s předchozím úzce souvisí. Jedná se o tzv. urban seailng, neboli zastavování krajiny. Tento termín zachycuje veškerý typ výstavby vedoucí k přeměně přírodních propustných povrchů na nepropustné. Článek se bude zabývat charakteristikou problému, metodikami měření a současným stavem ochrany v rámci České republiky.
Besides the fully described and discussed phenomenon of urban sprawl, there is another phenomenon closely linked to the previous one. The so-called urban sealing or urban soil sealing. This term captures any type of construction that leads to the conversion of natural permeable surfaces to impermeable ones. The article will describe the characteristics of the problem, accesible methods of measurement and current state of protection within the Czech Republic.
