Mathematical modeling and simulation techniques represent powerful tools for optimizing the operation of drinking water supply networks. Water quality in the distribution systems is affected by the hydraulic regime in the network. An incidental re-suspension of accumulated loose particles is the main cause of discoloration events in the network. The new tool is a software application ADAM, which uses a non-data-hungry methodology based on a risk analysis approach and utilizes the authors previous experience with mathematical modeling of various water-supply networks.en
