Abstract

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá autorovými osobnými túžbami, konkrétne materialistickými a telesnými ambíciami, ktoré sú formované predstavami o úspechu, statuse a ideálnom tele. Tieto túžby sú spracované v dvoch umeleckých objektoch, v ktorých autor sleduje napätie medzi fascináciou a kritikou konzumných ideálov. Zvolený materiál, z ktorého sú objekty vytvorené, navodzuje konotáciu medzi dostupným a nedostupným, čím zdôrazňuje kontrast medzi každodennosťou a idealizovanými predstavami. Práca skúma, do akej miery sú tieto túžby „autentické“ a do akej miery odrážajú tlak súčasného spoločenského prostredia. V textovej časti autor hľadá paralely medzi osobnou skúsenosťou a spoločenským a kultúrnym kontextom, ktorý formuje význam a symboliku zvolených objektov.

The thesis explores the author’s personal desires, specifically materialistic and bodily ambitions, shaped by notions of success, status, and the ideal body. These desires are manifested in two artistic objects through which the author examines the tension between fascination with and critique of consumerist ideals. The materials used to create the objects evoke a contrast between the accessible and the unattainable, highlighting the discrepancy between everyday reality and idealised visions. The work investigates to what extent these desires are “authentic” and to what extent they reflect the pressures of contemporary society. In the text, the author draws parallels between personal experience and the social and cultural context that shapes the meaning and symbolism of the chosen objects.
