dc.description.abstractZadání diplomové práce bylo navrhnout budovu pro brněnskou filharmonii. Brněnská filharmonie doposud sídlí v Besedním domě, který pro tento účel nevyhovuje. Místo pro návrh nové budovy brněnské filharmonie byla zvolena parcela, kde je aktuálně parkoviště, která je v těsné blízkosti besedního domu. V roce 1992 byl založen Spolek pro výstavbu koncertního sálu, který od té doby usiluje o vybudování Janáčkova kulturního centra. Koncertní sál s vynikající akustikou, který v Brně chybí. První snaha byla v roce 1989, kdy byla vypsána architektonická soutěž a projekt nové budovy byl těsně před započetím stavebních prací zrušen. V roce 2003 Statutární město Brno vyhlásilo urbanisticko-architektonickou soutěž na řešení stavby Janáčkova kulturního centra, jejímž předmětem byl urbanistický návrh celého prostoru mezi ulicemi Besední, Veselou a hotelem International. Zadáním soutěže byl rovněž návrh přístavby hotelu International. Důvody pro volbu tohoto pozemku byla těsná vazba na Besední dům., pozice v městském centru v sousedství s dalšími významnými institucemi, dobré napojení na MHD, možnost realizovat kapacitní podzemní garáže. Letošním rokem byly započaty stavební práce na tomhle místě, kde má stát nová budova. Celková realizace se odehrává ve dvou etapách. V první etapě se realizují podzemní tři podzemní patra sloužící pro parkování. Ve druhé etapě se postaví budova Janáčkova kulturního centra. Tuto soutěž na JKC vyhrál ateliér M1. V prvním kole soutěže se počítalo s bouráním trafostanice u hotelu International a rozšířením parcely. V druhém kole soutěže už parcela byla jen na místě parkoviště bez zásadních zásahů do okolního prostoru. Tato verze je platná do dnešního dne.cs

In the first round of the competition envisaged the demolition substation at the International Hotel and expanding the plot. In the second round it was only a plot parking spot without significant interference with the surrounding space. This version is valid to this day.en
