Automatizované testy hardwaru s využitím frameworku pytest

Abstract

Sdružení CESNET vyvíjí pro své potřeby i komerční partnery řadu vysokorychlostních síťových karet postavených na technologii FPGA. Tato práce se zaměřuje na jejich testování. V rámci dané problematiky jsou popsány samotné síťové karty a také stávající testovací prostředí, které sdružení CESNET k jejich testování využívá. Následně jsou navrženy dvě sady automatizovaných testů: první je zaměřena na komponentu MAC, přítomnou ve většině karet sdružení, a druhá je více specifičtější, vyvinutá pro testování funkcionality MVB paketového filtru v aplikaci NIC. Tyto sady jsou následně také implementovány a po ověření funkčnosti integrovány do prostředí pro testování síťových karet na serverech CESNET. V rámci implementovaného řešení je kladen důraz na automatizaci a oddělení jednotlivých testovaných případů.

The CESNET Association develops a range of high-speed network cards based on FPGA technology for its commercial partners and also for its own needs. This thesis focuses on automated testing of such cards. The network cards themselves and the existing testing environment used by CESNET for their testing are described within the scope of the topic. Subsequently, two sets of automated tests are proposed, with the first one oriented on the MAC filter present in most of CESNET's cards and the other, which is focused on the functionality of the MVB packet filter in the NIC application. These sets are then implemented, verified for functionality, and integrated into the testing environment for network cards on CESNET servers. The implemented solution emphasizes automation and the separation of individual test cases.
