| dc.description.abstract | When surveying and documenting historic trusses, it is possible to determine the time they were constructed just by assessing the type of structure used and some selected hand-crafted details. This chronological typology differs from the current state of knowledge which relies predominantly on descriptions of load-bearing structures. The new typology significantly adds to the possibilities of historical surveying, and opens new ways for presenting roof trusses as historical monuments. It also adds value by helping us to learn more about wood-crafting methods and techniques. | en |
