dc.description.abstractThis thesis deals with decision-making models in networked environments. It explores player’s behavior in the Prisoner’s Dilemma (PD) by integrating a psychological concept of altruism into the game’s strategic framework. Traditionally, the Prisoner’s Dilemma models self-interested players, but here, each player’s payoffs are transformed using an altruism parameter, reflecting the degree of concern they have for their opponent’s well-being . This parameter alters the game matrix, turning it into a quasi zero-sum framework, where each player’s payoff is adjusted by a factor proportional to their opponent’s payoff. It was then generalized on network and simulated to study the evolution of cooperation over time. The results are graphically presented, discussed and compared with known theory.en
