Abstract

Cílem projektu bylo navrhnout galerii architektury, designu a moderního umění na pozemku, který se nachází na rohu ulic Milady Horákové a Koliště, tedy na brněnské okružní třídě. Jedná se o místo neobyčejně dopravně zatížené a zároveň exkluzivní blízkostí kulturně významných budov. Budova se skládá hmotově ze dvou hranolů. Půdorysně navazuje na sousední budovy a převyšuje je. Před vstupem, který je jako trychtýř nasměrován k rohu ulice, je ponechán volný prostor. Kromě výstavních prostor je součástí galerie taktéž auditorium, kavárna a atelier.The goal of this project was to design a gallery of architecture, design and modern art at the corner of Milady Horákové street and Koliště street, on the ring boulevard. There is heavy traffic and at the same moment the place is exclusive because of culturally important builings nearby. The building is made up of two prisms. In the groundplan it continues the line of neighbouring buildings and it is taller than them. There is free space in front of the entrance, which goes like a funnel from the corner of the street. Apart from the exhibition area there are also the auditorium, café and atelier in the building.
