Abstract

This article focuses on the quality of septic tank wastewater, with an emphasis on its chemical analysis. Key parameters such as chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), nitrogen compounds and organic pollutants were examined. The results indicate significant variability in wastewater composition, influenced by factors such as storage time and source characteristics. This was evident in the determination of, for example, BOD and COD, where samples with higher residence time exhibited high values for these parameters. The findings provide insight into the treatability of septic tank wastewater in aerobic treatment systems.
