Abstract

Návrh se zabývá konverzí bývalého hotelu Podhoran v centru Bystřice pod Hostýnem. Budova ze 70. let je v současnosti opuštěná, chátrá a hledá novou náplň. Základem návrhu je zachování stávající nosné konstrukce jako rámce pro nové veřejné využití. Návrh pracuje s kombinací dvou městských institucí, které v současnosti fungují v nevyhovujících prostorách – knihovny a úřadu. Využívá specifickou prostorovou organizaci, založenou na vrstvení těchto dvou provozů okolo nově zastřešeného atria domu. Jejím prostřednictvím usiluje o vzájemné prolínání obou institucí napříč patry a otevírá se veřejnosti. Cílem projektu je podpořit provozní propojení knihovny a úřadu a znovuzačlenění domu do života města.

The project deals with the conversion of the former Podhoran Hotel in the centre of Bystřice pod Hostýnem. The building from the 1970s is currently abandoned, dilapidated and in search of a new use. The core of the project is the preservation of the existing structure as a setting for a new public use. The design works with the combination of two municipal institutions that currently operate in inadequate premises - the library and the municipality. It uses a specific spatial organization based on the layering of these two operations around a newly sheltered atrium of the building. It seeks to blend the two institutions together throughout the floors, while at the same time opening up to the public. The aim of the project is to support the functional interaction between the library and the office and to reintegrate the building into the life of the town.
