Abstract

Odlišná doba vzniku většiny evropských a severoamerických měst znamenala také odlišné přístupy k jejich urbanistické dispozici. Stejně tak význam volných prostranství respektive městské zeleně byl v obou vývojových etapách ve zcela jiné pozici. Srovnání doby vzniku těchto měst nám pomůže uvědomit si současný stav situování veřejných prostorů se zelení v rámci jejich center a z toho plynoucí výhody a nevýhody s ohledem na dnešní požadavky měst.
Different times of the formation of the most European and North American cities also meant different approaches to their urban disposal. Likewise, the importance of the open spaces or urban green areas was in a completely different position in both developmental stages. Comparison of the time in that these cities were established will help us to realize the current state of situating the green public spaces within their centers and the resulting advantages and disadvantages with regard to the requirements of today's cities.
