The main objective of the paper is to compare selected modes of voltage control in mediumvoltage (MV) distribution system (DS) by means of reactive power injection provided by distributedpower generating plants (DPGPs). At first, rationale for voltage rise compensation and voltage controlin power grids is made in order to select three reactive power control modes of DPGP. Thecontrol modes are described in terms of ability to autonomous operation and suitability of their usein MV DS is examined using parametric simulation.en
