Abstract

Předložená práce je návrhem architektonického a urbanistického řešení momentálně nezastavěné nárožní parcely na křižovatce brněnských ulic Koliště a Milady Horákové. Na této parcele je navržena stavba, která má být využívána především jako galerie architektury, designu a soudobého umění. Budova zcela vyplňuje prostor oblého nároží. Navenek nebudí přílišnou pozornost, záměrně působí jako obyčejná vysoká zeď. V kolemjdoucím vyvolává zvědavost, která ho vede dovnitř, aby objevil tajemství, které je za zdí skryto. Uvnitř se otevírá zcela odlišný prostor, kterému dominuje vzdušná konstrukce ze skla a křehké příhradoviny. Hlavní přístup do galerie je řešen otevřeným podchodem vedoucím od Janáčkova divadla na třídu Kapitána Jaroše. Většina šestipodlažní budovy je věnována výstavním prostorám, a to včetně střešní terasy, která slouží jako sezónní expoziční plocha. Hlavním posláním navržené stavby je činit umění trvalou součástí životního stylu obyvatel města, a tomuto cíli se snaží dostát ve všech směrech.This paper is proposing an architectural and town-planning solution of the corner parcel located on the crossing of Koliště and Milady Horákové streets in Brno, which has been vacant so far. The author of this paper has designed a building which is meant to be used as a gallery of architecture, design, and contemporary art. The building is filling the space of the round corner up. From the outside, it is not attracting much attention, its intention is to give an impression of an ordinary wall. But this wall wants to provoke curiosity of passing people, it wants to make them ask about the secret it is hiding. This curiosity brings us inside where we discover a totally other type of place which is dominated by a lofty construction made of glass and delicate truss structure. The main entrance into the gallery is from an open pedestrian underpass which leads from the Janáčkovo divadlo to the Kapitána Jaroše street. The most of six floors of the building is dedicated to the gallery, including the roof terrace which is designed for seasonal exterior expositions. The main purpose of the designed building is to make art a permanent part of the lives of Brno inhabitants and it is regarding this goal in every possible way.
