Abstract

Hlavním téma při navrhování knihovny v Lausanne bylo prostředí, ve kterém se knihovna nachází. Město se poměrně prudce svažuje od jezera Lac Léman a díky tomu se nabízejí zajímavé pohledy na jezero z mnoha míst ve městě. V tomto systému, kdy jsou pohledy orientovány jižním směrem k jezeru, se nachází území, které se svou strukturou liší od zbytku města. Údolí, ve kterém protékala říčka Flon bylo v 19. století zasypáno a na rovné ploše vzikly průmyslové objekty s racionální strukturou, kterou procházela žleznice.The main issue when designing libraries of Lausanne was an environment in which the library is located. The city is relatively steeply sloping from the Lac Léman and because they offer interesting views of the lake from many places in the city.
