Abstract
Cílem diplomové práce je vypracování projektové dokumentace pro univerzitní knihovnu se sídlem ve městě Ostravě. Objekt budovy má dvě nadzemní podlaží a suterén s plochou zelenou střechou vybavenou solární elektrárnou. V prvním patře budou obchodní prostory pro kavárnu a knihkupectví a také vyhrazená plocha pro administrativní funkce knihovny. Druhé podlaží je navrženo pro funkční stránku knihovny včetně půjčovny knih, čítárny, studoven a odpočinkové zóny pro volnočasové aktivity. V suterénu se bude nacházet automatizovaný parkovací systém pro 14 vozů spolu se skladovacím prostorem schopným pojmout až 70 000 knih. Automatizovaný systém ukládání a vyhledávání (AS/RS) umožní zaměstnancům i návštěvníkům efektivně získat knihy během několika sekund od vyžádání knihy. Tento systém také umožňuje správu zásob a zajišťuje, že knihy jsou uloženy v optimálních klimatických podmínkách při maximálním využití prostoru. Projekt se také zaměřuje na návrh příčného kombinovaného konstrukčního systému s budovou podepřenou na pilotové desce a suterénem z vodovzdorného betonu. Konstrukce obsahuje vápenopískové bloky pro obvodové stěny a betonové sloupy podél konstrukční osy. Konstrukce dodržuje základní směrnice, včetně předpisů o požární bezpečnosti a norem s téměř nulovou spotřebou energie.
The aim of the Master’s Thesis is to develop the project documentation for a university library located in the city of Ostrava. The building object comprises two above-ground floors and a basement, featuring a flat green roof equipped with a solar power plant. The first floor will include retail space for a café and a bookshop, as well as a dedicated area for the library’s administrative functions. The second floor is designed for the functional aspect of the library, including the book lending area, reading room, study rooms, and a chill zone for leisure activities. The basement will house a 14-car automated parking system along with a storage facility capable of accommodating up to 70,000 books. An automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) will enable both employees and visitors to efficiently obtain books within seconds of requesting a book. This system also enables inventory management and ensures books are stored in optimal climate conditions while maximizing space utilization. The project also focuses on the design of a transversal combined structural system, with the building supported on a pile-slab structure and the basement constructed using watertight concrete. The construction incorporates lime-sand blocks for the peripheral walls and concrete columns along the structural axis. The design adheres to essential guidelines, including fire safety regulations and near-zero energy standards.

The student presented her diploma thesis entitled University library in Ostrava, she presented the architectural, layout and structural design of the building. Then she moved on to answering the questions of the opponent. Dr. Vajkay further asked about the waterproofing layer and the rationale for its design.
The student with perfect clarity occupied the professional opinions on all of the opponent's comments and excellently responded well to all questions from the committee members that were defended thesis.
