Obchodní dům "Centrum" v Brně

Abstract

Předmětem diplomové práce je architektonická studie rekonstrukce a nástavby obchodního domu “Centrum“ od architekta Vladimíra Karfíka, který se nachází mezi ulicemi Jánská a Kobližná v Brně. Tento objekt měl být ve své době nejvyšší budovou v Evropě, ale vzhledem k problémům, které se objevily při výstavbě, bylo nakonec z původních dvaceti osmi podlaží realizováno pouhých osm. Nový objekt bude patnáctipodlažní. Původních osm nadzemních podlaží, z nichž poslední dvě byly ustoupeny, je v novém návrhu zarovnáno do jednoho sedmipodlažního celku a na něj nadstaveno osm kratších podlaží, které na jižní straně ustupují a směrem k nově přistavenému bloku s komunikačními a instalačními jádry v západní části se sbíhají do jednoho bodu jako rozevírající se vějíř. Tím jsou vytvořeny na jižní fasádě malé terásky a architektonický výraz z pohledu chodce působí dynamicky a méně mohutně. Funkční využití je kombinované, nachází se zde obchody, dvě kavárny, služby, administrativa a v posledních podlažích bydlení. Z architektonického hlediska stavba zapadá do struktury městské památkové rezervace a výškově nepřevyšuje věže kostela.The subject of the diploma thesis is the architectural study of the reconstruction and extension of the department store “Centrum“ by an architect Vladimír Karfík, which is situated between the Jánská and Kobližná streets in Brno. This object should have been the highest building in the whole of Europe at its time, but due to the problems, which occurred during the construction, finally only eight storeys out of the original twenty eight were realized. The new object will be a fifteen storey building. Original eight ground floors, from which the last two were subsided, is aligned to a seven storey whole in a new design, and on this unit there is the extension of eight shorter floors, which are on the south side retreating and which are converging to one point like an unfolding fan in the direction to a new extension block with communication and installation cores in the western part. This creates the southern facade of small terraces, and an architectural expression from the perspective of pedestrians acts dynamically and less mighty. The functional utilization is combined, there is a passage with shops, two cafés, services, administration, and on the last floors there is housing. From an architectural point of view the building fits into the structure of urban conservation and the height does not exceed the spires of the church.
