In this article, the automatic motor stop because of a mechanical obstacle or the end limit is described and implemented. Theory about the motor current parameters evaluation and the motor current measurements is presented. As case-study, the created air-conditioning using ATmega8 and MC33887 is described where the motor stop is implemented and tested. A new algorithm that detects the motion state automatically according to the motor current measurement with no need of the motor parameters is proposed and tested.en
