dc.description.abstractThis article describes design and creating an autonomous cell called „ice crusher“ designed to be used as a part of Industry 4.0 testbed. The testbed is supposed to simulate a small factory and is used to demonstrate parts of Industry 4.0. The main task was to design the mechanical part of the cell and equip it with sensors. In the first part of the article is to describe the mechanical part that is designed in NX software. In the next part suitable electronics is selected. The electronics was selected so that it provides safe and reliable cell control, while being as simple and cheap as possible. The control unit fot the cell is PLC 1200 and as for visualisation a HMI touch panel made by Siemens was chosen. The control unit was programmed using LAD and SCL languages.en
