Abstract
This paper focuses on the design and implementation of a secure Linux-based system for Compulab embedded devices serving as communication gateways in smart buildings. The primary goal is to protect the gateway against potential cyber threats while ensuring automated device management and secure and uninterrupted system operation with minimal downtime. We will briefly analyze three existing IoT security reference models and IoT vulnerabilities while proposing a resilient architecture with robust protection mechanisms. The final system is designed for efficient operation, minimal downtime, and compliance with stringent security requirements. Real-world testing will be conducted to verify its effectiveness, ensuring reliability and adaptability in modern smart building environments.
