akalářská práce Daryny Sakharové pojednává o negativních dopadech Smart cities na lidskou společnost. Má 44 stran a je přehledně rozčleněna do sedmi kapitol, včetně úvodu a závěru. Práce obsahuje všechny předepsané náležitosti a seznam literatury obsahuje úctyhodných bezmála sto položek, což je obdivuhodný počet. Ačkoliv se jedná převážně o elektronické zdroje, jejich výběr se zdá být promyšlený a slouží potřebám práce. Citační systém je jednotný. Jedinou anomálií jsou okraje stran, který je užší než standardních 2,5 cm. Po formální stránce tudíž hodnotím práci výborně. Tato bakalářská práce je sepsána neutrálním stylem s použitím odpovídajících výrazových prostředků a gramatiky. Po jazykové stránce lze říci, že práce je na velmi dobré úrovni, ale přirozeně se občas nevyhnula chybám z nepozornosti, zejména v interpunkci. Již závažnějším problémem jsou občasné chyby v kohezi textu. Po jazykové stránce hodnotím práci jako nadprůměrnou, známkou B. Práce je psána jako rešerše, a jak již bylo zmíněno výše, autorka zanalyzovala značné množství zdrojů. Na problematiku negativních vlivů Smart cities se dívá z mnoha úhlů od technologických až po sociální a otázky soukromí. Jedná se o velmi dobře sestavený celek, jež umožňuje nepoučenému čtenáři pochopit úskalí Smart cities, která se postupně stávají fenoménem naší doby, a možná právě proto, jejich negativa nejsou až tak často zmiňována. V tomto ohledu tudíž považuji práci za velmi přínosnou. Autorka zcela naplnila zadání práce, prokázala, že je schopna nejen vyhledat, ale i zanalyzovat velké množství informací a přehledně je prezentovat v uceleném celku. Práci tudíž hodnotím známkou “výborně” a doporučuji k obhajobě.
The negative impact of Smart Cities on human society is the title of this thesis, but its focus is much more since it importantly defines what is meant by the term "Smart Cities". This term has been kicked around like a football by so many writers and hucksters that I was wondering if I would ever really know what Smart Cities meant. Thanks to reading Ms. Sakharova's thesis I finally know the answer. I really liked Daryna Sakharova's thesis. The content was excellent in its description of many facets related to Smart Cities and the problems and reasons for its negative impact. One can see the writer worked hard in her research and in overall putting everything together nicely. For all she did achieve, the author should have received an A. However, I cannot do so because Ms. Sakharova made errors mostly in style which affects the content and confuses the reader. This is seen first in the Introduction which is treated as not really being part of the thesis. This is seen in last paragraph of p. 1 when she writes "At the beginning of my thesis, I introduced [a grammar error by the way] the basic definitions..." She's referring to chapter 2, forgetting that chapter 1 is the "actual" beginning of her thesis. Later on towards the end of chapter 3 at top of p. 5 Daryna writes "For an instance, India is currently preparing to develop 100 new smart cities across the country. One of the most famous examples is South Korean city Songdo..."! Any reader here would be perplexed by this as he/she would have been earlier in the final sentence of the Introduction when it is mentioned "...In the next chapter of the bachelor thesis, I studied two significant challenges..." and then after further description Daryna neglects to mention the two challenges! Moreover, there is this is a crowded feeling when reading this paper because Ms. Sakharova forgets to start a new page when she begins a new chapter. And lastly, at the very end of chapter 6 at the beginning of its final paragraph on p.31, she writes "By summarizing the [sic] Chapter 5..." when she really means Chapter 6 again causes confusion. In the end I can only give a final mark of "89%/B" for this very interesting work.
