Abstract

This thesis explores the application of phase correlation for estimating mutual rotation, scale changes, and translation between digital images. Since phase correlation relies on the Fourier transform, the thesis provides an overview of the Fourier transform for functions defined on R^2 and the discrete Fourier transform for functions defined on a finite grid {0,1,...,N-1}^2. It examines modifications to the phase correlation technique for estimating similarity transformation parameters between images and those captured using different sensors and optical systems.

Defence

The student began by presenting their Master's thesis. Following the presentation, the secretary read the supervisor's written evaluation. Subsequently, the supervisor, who is also a member of the examination committee, delivered his verbal assessment. Afterward, the student responded to the questions posed by the opponent. The opponent expressed satisfaction with the student's answers.
