Abstract

Tato semestrální práce je zaměřena na identifikaci role inženýra ve 21. století. Zabývá se možnostmi a požadovanými dovednostmi potřebnými pro inženýrskou činnost a popisuje řadu globálních výzev, kterým čelí inženýři nového století. Jsou to problémy v různých oblastech vědy a techniky, které rovněž zahrnují sociální a etické aspekty. Tato práce dále definuje hlavní pracovní povinnosti a pravidla profesionální etiky inženýrství a přiřazuje je ke konkrétním profesím. Poslední kapitola práce poukazuje na důležitou roli moderního inženýrského vzdělávání ve společnosti a na problémy, kterým musí toto vzdělávání čelit ve 21 století.The semester thesis is focused on the identification of the roles of an engineer of the 21st century. It addresses possibilities and required skills needed for engineering activities and describes numbers of global challenges that should be resolved by the engineers in the new century. These are problems of the different areas of science and technology, including social and ethical aspects of these problems. Furthermore, the work defines the main engineers’ job duties as well as the rules of professional engineering ethics and assigns them to specific professions. The final chapter of the semester thesis points up the important role of engineering education in society and describes the challenges the education faces in the 21st century.
