Abstract

Due to the thermal expansivity of the material used in the Fabry-Perot resonator mirrors, the resonator cavity length can change and this might therefore have an impact on the resonant frequency during high-resolution spectroscopy measurements. Based on measurements and simulations, this paper discusses the influences of temperature on the precise determination of gas attenuation measured in a Fabry-Perot resonator. Several measures to mitigate such influence and to correct the measured results were tested. A correction method for the measured data was proposed.
