Abstract
Rešeršná práca, ktorá sa zaoberá koncepciami a charakteristikami lietadiel v kategórii VTOL a STOVL. Hlavná časť textu sa zaoberá výhodami a nevýhodami riešení konkrétnych problémov, a to použitím rôznych pohonných jednotiek, spôsobov ovládania v režimoch letu s nízkou alebo nulovou rýchlosťou letu a prechodom do vodorovného letu. Ďalej obsahuje prehľad vybraných lietadiel tejto kategórie s popisom ich určenia a koncepčného riešenia.
Review article, which dissertates about concepts and characteristics of airplanes in VTOL and STOVL category. The main part of text deals with advantages and disadvantages of specific problems and their solutions like use of different propelling solutions, means of handling in flight with low or zero airspeed and transitions to forward flight. Next it contains an overview of chosen airplanes in this category with description of their use and conceptual solutions.
