Bc. Tomáš Müller's master thesis, "Interactive Architecture”, provides a well-defined exploration of the potential of interactive architecture, centering on digitized origami structures. The thesis is particularly relevant due to its alignment with contemporary themes of resilience, sustainability, and the dynamic interaction between technology and architecture. By leveraging ancient origami techniques and integrating them with digital technology to create adaptive structures, the thesis offers a novel perspective within the broader realm of interactive architecture. The core research questions are clearly outlined at the beginning of the thesis. It is structured into two main chapters: an introduction and a practical section, followed by chapters dedicated to results - discussion, and references. Breaking down the thesis into more main chapters of comparable length, with a maximum of three sub-chapters each, would improve readability. Methodologically, the thesis employs diverse research approaches, including experimentation with paper, digital fabrication, and simulation of folded structures. Notably, the thesis introduces a novel concept of employing double joint connections within deformed Muira ori patterns, unlocking new design possibilities. Despite the fabrication remaining at a model scale level, substantial attention is dedicated to simulating shading effects, with results meticulously documented through graphs and accompanying discussions. The practical chapter of the thesis, which also focuses on simulating various origami configurations across different global locations, forms the core of the work. While the thesis draws upon a wide range of national and international scientific and architectural references, the absence of direct references to the numerous accompanying images and graphs makes it challenging for readers to correlate visual content with textual descriptions. The thesis "Interactive Architecture" by Bc. Tomáš Müller is recommended for acceptance. It offers valuable insights into the integration of traditional origami techniques with digital technology, contributing to the discourse on interactive architecture. I acknowledge that this master's thesis is research-oriented rather than design-oriented. I truly appreciate the incredible amount of work the candidate has accomplished within a short timeframe. As acknowledged by the candidate, such an achievement was only possible with exceptional support from colleagues and supervisor. Considering the adherence to the evaluation criteria at your university, this master's thesis warrants the highest mark- mark A – excellent (93 Points).
