Jan Sucháček investigated the creation of 3D digital models of the upper airways from CT-scan data. He used various annotation and segmentation techniques to create the models and later conducted a comparative analysis based on different metrics among which are intersection volume, Dice coefficient, and model-to-model distance. Additionally he evaluated and discussed practical considerations, like time of creation for the models with different software. In his written work, Mr. Sucháček provides a comprehensive introduction into the anatomy of the upper airways and the methodological background of 3D modelling. His results and discussion yielded valuable insights and will aid further research in the field significantly. The thesis is very well structured. The used technical language is elaborate, clear and concise. Overall, Mr. Sucháček demonstrated excellency in both, his practical and written work.

Annotating and segmenting structures in medical images is a highly relevant and important topic in clinical practice. The task is presented and argued clearly and comprehensively. The methodological approach is wellthought-out, allowing for the comparison of various techniques using both qualitative and quantitative metrics. The workflow is well-described and reproducible for various CT examinations, bringing additional value. Furthermore, the performed CFD simulation demonstrated the workflow's applicability to practical questions. The results provide new information that is valuable for both research and industry, contributing to the body of knowledge on the subject and supporting professional practice. The thesis was written independently, with Mr. Suchacek actively bringing ideas and approaches to solve problems. The thesis is well structured and logically connected. The thesis's shortcomings include minor grammar errors and a lack of depth in the CFD-related discussion sections. However, these do not diminish the overall quality of the work. The graphical representation of the results highlights the thesis, demonstrating publicationlevel quality. It is clear, that significant effort and thought were dedicated to writing this thesis.
