Posudky závěrečné kvalifikační práce

Student Richard Pánek se v rámci disertační práce podílel na vytvoření řady publikací, ale i na řešení projektů. Jádro disertace je vytvořeno celkem pět publikacemi. Přínosem práce je zvýšení odoslností systémů postavených na bázi FPGA, které využívají řadič rekonfigurace, ale i samotný návrh řadiče rekonfigurace odolného proti poruchám. Celkově disertační práci doporučuji k obhajobě.

The thesis and the student´s achievements meet the generally accepted requirements for the award of an academic degree Ph.D. (in accordance with Section 47 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on higher education institution). Therefore, I do recommend the submitted thesis for the presentation and defense.

Otázky

More details on the architecture of the proposed reconfiguration controller should be provided. As I understand, its general architecture is described in Sec. 2.4.3, where it is described on two pages only. Since it is a basis of the work, I would appreciate a more thorough description. Next, it is not clear how exactly is this architecture modified after all. E.g., where the TMR is placed there?
Why did you chose the ITC’99 benchmark and the particular circuits from it for the experimental evaluation? Wouldn’t it be more suitable to use more recent, bigger, and more practical circuits, like those from benchmarks like IWLS 2005 or EPFL?
Is it possible to present a comparison with similar (competitive) architectures? There are some mentioned in the review part of the thesis.
