Informace k zadání The bachelor's thesis titled "Cognitive Game Battery: Assessing and Identifying Deficits in Memory, Attention, Problem-Solving, and Decision-Making Skills" focuses on creating a mobile application to assess cognitive functions through a set of games non-invasively. The application was developed for the Android platform using the Unity engine and includes a system for collecting and analyzing game data via cloud accessibility. This project is innovative and challenging as it involves the design, implementation, and evaluation of digital games to assess cognitive skills. The thesis is built on existing studies, but it also introduced new methods for assessment, making it a good contribution to the field. The results achieved were satisfactory as the application successfully assessed the targeted cognitive domains and provided detailed feedback to users based on their performance.
Práce s literaturou The student demonstrated a thorough approach to obtaining and using study materials for the thesis. The literature review included an analysis of existing assessment tasks and methods, which formed the foundation for the design and implementation of the cognitive game battery. The student utilized a wide range of sources, including academic journals, online databases, and previous studies, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the topic.
Aktivita během řešení, konzultace, komunikace The student was proactive and consistent in their approach. Despite the inability to meet physically, regular online meetings ensured continuous discussion and feedback on the project's progress. The student was responsive and incorporated suggested improvements in a timely manner, demonstrating a good grasp of the required changes and their implementation. The deadlines were met consistently, and the student was well-prepared for each consultation, showing a deep understanding of the project's requirements and progress.
Aktivita při dokončování The work was completed within the set timeline, with the final content thoroughly discussed and refined through ongoing consultations. The iterative feedback process helped ensure the quality and accuracy of the thesis. Regular reviews and updates facilitated the incorporation of necessary changes, leading to a well-rounded and complete project.
Publikační činnost, ocenění No awards or formal publications were associated with this work at the time of submission. However, the student plans to write a conference paper based on the thesis for future publication.

Fully functional Android based app is successfully developed with complete backend and frontend functionalities. The app contains three games that assess three corresponding cognitive skills, namely, sustained attention, working memory, and decision making. Overall, it was a difficult project and student has completed it successfully. In addition, extensive testing of the app makes it a solid project.

Náročnost zadání It is a difficult project because it requires not only knowledge in game development but also needs to incorporate psychological concepts of cognitive skills. In addition, database development on the cloud as backend and user interface on the frontend are also required. This makes it a difficult project.
Rozsah splnění požadavků zadání The student has successfully met all the requirements of the project. Though there is room for improvement in many sections (especially literature review) and the structure of the thesis, overall the work done is good. The student has created 3 games assessing the three cognitive skills, namely, attention, memory and decision making. In addition, the backend and frontend were also developed. Finally, the testing of the games is done with 45 people which is very good.
Rozsah technické zprávy The thesis meets the minimum 40 standard pages requirement. Though it meets the requirement, the student could have easily expanded it by including a section or a chapter on the biology of brain anatomy and physiology. This information is lacking in this thesis. It is important because this project is a multi-disciplinary project that requires some preliminary knowledge from medical domain too. The student might have studied about it on his own but it does not reflect in the thesis.
Prezentační úroveň technické zprávy 80 Overall, the thesis is well structured. Chapter 1 provides introduction, followed by literature review in chapter 2 and information on game technology in chapter 3. The proposed game is mentioned in chapters 4 and 5 with results and conclusions in chapters 6 and 7. Separate chapter 4 was not required and both chapters 4 and 5 could have been combined. This is a minor observation. However, the major observation is the absence of numbers for sub-sections and this makes this thesis harder to read. It would have greatly help the readers if sub-section numbering had been provided. Also, chapter 3 has just one section 3.1. The student could have easily added few more sections, for example, Using Unity on Android, Limitations of using Unity etc.
Formální úprava technické zprávy 85 Overall, the language of the thesis is readable and hence satisfactory. There are minor typos and grammatical mistakes. However, they are few and in general the thesis is well written.
Práce s literaturou 85 The student has provided good number of references and has also provided information on the existing games that assess the three cognitive skills being measured in this project. However, some of the sections (like 2.1) do not have adequate number of references. In addition, though the student has provided details of some of the existing games, the student should have focused on identifying the gaps in them too.
Realizační výstup 90 The student has developed three games and they specifically assess corresponding three cognitive skills, that is, sustained attention, working memory, and decision making. The games developed are modified versions of existing games from TENI, TOVA, Workix, and Tower of London task. Fully functional Android based app is developed with complete backend and frontend functionalities. Further the app is tested extensively and the results are presented in a way that are easy to understand.
Využitelnost výsledků The work is development of three games corresponding to three cognitive skills with the aim of assessing those skills. The development is done by modifying the concepts from existing games. There is a possibility of using them in practice by adding better visualization and interpretation of the results.
