KUCHER, M. Digital Assessment of Human Motor Functions: Focusing on Visual Perception and Perceptual Motor Coordination [online]. Brno: Vysoké učení technické v Brně. Fakulta informačních technologií. 2025.
The student has successfully completed the development of digital assessment of human motor function and met all the objectives specified in the project description. The method not only assesses the cognitive skill with its two sub-domains but it also provides a user interface for visualization through database integration at the backend on the cloud.

Informace k zadání | The thesis was related to development of digital assessment method for human motor function which is one of the six cognitive skills defined in DSM-V by APA. The assessment is done both for Visual Perception and Perceptual Motor Coordination. The work was challenging because it not only involved the development skills but also required understanding of cognitive skills from the perspective of human psychology. The student developed method to assess both the Visual Perception and Perceptual Motor Coordination. The resulting outputs are satisfactory and all the requirements of the thesis were met.
Práce s literaturou | The student reviewed many existing methods as well as the literature to understand the two sub-domains of the cognitive skill of human motor function, namely, Visual Perception and Perceptual Motor Coordination. Chapter 2 reviews neuroanatomy in section 2.1, the six cognitive skills in section 2.2, and provides details of the human motor function with its two sub-domains in section 2.3. Section 2.4 discusses the existing methods to measure each one of them. The chapter is concluded with a section providing details of the gaps and the corresponding way forward.
Aktivita během řešení, konzultace, komunikace | The student had a very positive attitude and started working on the topic in the winter semester of 2024. I had weekly meetings with the student and she regularly came for the meetings. She was very active, focused on her project, worked diligently and with dedication. She came well prepared for the meetings.
Aktivita při dokončování | The work was challenging because the development included backend database development on the cloud, frontend user interface development, and the visualization of the results. The student worked hard to complete all the development in time and she was able to submit the thesis before the deadline. She regularly consulted me before the submission of the thesis.
Publikační činnost, ocenění | The student developed a complete game with database on the cloud serving as the backend of the game, with a frontend user app, and with detailed visualization section. The work can be published in a conference. |
The thesis presents a solid and functional bachelor-level work with a practical focus on digitizing perceptual-motor tests. The student demonstrates adequate programming skills and understanding of relevant psychological principles.

Náročnost zadání | This thesis appropriately fits the bachelor’s thesis level in terms of complexity and deliverables
Rozsah splnění požadavků zadání | The thesis meets the core objectives of the assignment, delivering a working prototype that demonstrates the feasibility of digitally assessing motor-perceptual coordination and visual perception. However, some expectations, particularly regarding depth of analysis, validation, and practical utility, are met only partially. But overall assignment requirements are fulfilled.
Rozsah technické zprávy | The thesis satisfies the minimum formal length requirement for a bachelor’s thesis and includes all essential sections.
Prezentační úroveň technické zprávy | 87 | The structure is correct and the thesis is understandable and well written, but there is room for improvement in flow, depth, and clarity.
Formální úprava technické zprávy | 82 | The thesis is readable and correctly formatted in structure, but the linguistic and typographic preparation can be improved for a final submession.
Práce s literaturou | 90 | The student uses basic but relevant sources to support the background of the thesis, and also uses appropriate references without citation issues.
Realizační výstup | 90 | The system is functional and achieves its core aim to digitally administer and record basic psychomotor tasks. While the technical implementation is correct, it is modest in complexity, and the documentation and validation are limited to surface level testing. At the bachelor's level, this is acceptable.
Využitelnost výsledků | The thesis is not purely compilational , as it includes the development of a working software application tailored to testing perceptual motor skills. However, it primarily applies well-known test types ( maze tracing, symbol matching) in a digital environment, based on established psychological concepts. The implementation reflects original technical work, but the core ideas behind the test tasks are not novel. |
