The diploma thesis assignment involved the design and implementation of a PocketQube format nanosatellite and a ground station with a focus on educational purposes. While the thesis meets the basic requirements specified in the assignment, it falls short in several critical areas, particularly in the depth and thoroughness of the implementation and testing. The student's approach to problem-solving was generally systematic, but there were noticeable lapses in the quality of the work. Regular consultations were conducted, and the student's ability to independently resolve technical issues and find relevant information is commendable. However, the time planning of work progress should have been much better. The theoretical part of the work is satisfactory. The student reviewed current literature and available resources related to PocketQube format nanosatellites and their subsystems. The introduction is overly general and largely derivative, lacking original analysis and insight, but it provides a solid foundation for the practical part of the work. The practical part of the work demonstrates several notable shortcomings, which suggest that the practical implementation was rushed and lacked thoroughness. The design of PCBs is of low quality and lacks proper attention to detail. The use of ready-made modules, such as the LiIon charger, is not optimal. The chosen MCU is too powerful for the intended application. The work includes only basic evaluation and testing, likely due to time constraints. There is a lack of measurement of solar panels, payload testing, and proper battery current measurement. The RF communication testing was unprofessional, exemplified by attempts to measure range without an antenna. The language level of the work is average. The student's use of technical terminology is inconsistent, which detracts from the overall quality of the thesis. The formal level is below average, with multiple typographic errors in the work. The diploma thesis addresses a relevant and technically demanding topic. However, significant issues in the practical implementation, formal presentation, time planning, and especially the satellite testing and evaluation compromise the overall quality of the work.
