The dissertation thesis submitted by Jan Kral is focused on digital predistorters with an emphasis on computationally lightweight approaches. Personally, I highly appreciate the specific focus on the linearisation issues and innovativeness of the work presented. In my opinion, these are very high-quality results that are state of the art. The dissertation thesis is original in several aspects. This fact can be proven by seven records on the Web of Science, including five conference papers and two journal articles (in the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON CIRCUITS AND SYSTEMS I-REGULAR PAPERS), and one submitted article on a comparator topic. Jan was engaged in educational activities at the university as well. He was teaching the field of programmable circuits and, lately, mobile communications. He supervised two master theses, one presented during the defence. On top of that, he contributed to updating laboratory exercises of the presented courses. In my opinion, Jan Kral meets all requirements for a PhD candidate. He demonstrated above-average research and critical thinking skills while working on his dissertation. I therefore highly recommend defending the PhD thesis. Finally, I would like to mention that given the excellent results, I hope that Jan will continue in his scientific activities.
