This is an evaluation to the practical work done by Ondrej Manas in our institute in the period from February to August 2015 The project work started by choosing between cyclostationarity and Eigen-value based detection – based on simulation and implementation feasibility, cyclostationarity based detection that comprises cyclic prefix detection was chosen During the implementation phase he showed dedication and independence specially in problem solving. Ondřej implemented a cyclostationarity based detector on virtex-6 FPGA for real DVB-T signals in the UHF band. This includes implementation of several resampling stages, a correlator, integration with FFT IP-core and implementing his own architecture for test metric calculation. Ondřej did these tasks successfully and tested the design on FPGA on real DVB-T signals using our frontend. It was a pleasure working with Ondřej. I am completely satisfied with the work he did, and I would recommend the highest grade for his practical work. Future improvements to his work include arithmetic format optimization, and modifications for the architecture to work as a multichannel detector.
