The thesis describes the design and implementation of an Android application in an industrial system based on a PLC, performing the role of HMI communicating via OPC UA. However, the student made the work more complexly and created a mobile HMI application for a PLC, which allows the creation of screens containing defined display elements, while the individual elements can be linked to PLC variables. Thus, a universal Android HMI application was created. The author drew information from Internet sources and Beckhoff company literature. The text part is written factually, but could have presented the achieved results in more detail. Figure 1-2 is not cited, and a reference is not generated on page 31. Otherwise, I did not find any serious formal issues. The student worked and solved problems independently, consulting during the year and using help when he got stuck on a problem, as was the case, for example, when the Android OPC UA library did not work. Given the complexity of the created HMI application that the author chose, I consider the thesis to be beneficial, and it can be built on. ritten factually, but could have presented the achieved resalts in more details. The thesis mainly focuses on the design and development of a network interconnection between an industrial control system and a mobile HMI application for an Android-based device. It consists of 39 pages (from Introduction to Conclusion) and is logically structured into six main chapters, covering all aspects of the task. The first chapter defines the project and its related tasks and enumerates key aspects and requirements. The second chapter provides an overview of the components, technologies, and tools used. Although this part is clearly written, I miss a bit a broader research (review) arising from the assignment. In its current form, it is limited only to the applied technologies. The third chapter proposes the system architecture, employing the reviewed technologies mentioned above. The concept description is supplemented by functional charts and flowcharts. The OPC-UA standard was chosen for communication between the devices, complemented by a tunneling method for external access (outside the local network), which I consider a suitable solution. The fourth chapter describes the implementation itself. The OPC-UA configuration, tunneling, and Android applications are clearly presented. However, the section covering the PLC code (TwinCAT project) is relatively brief and lacks more detailed explanations. The final section summarizes and discusses the results of testing. There is no shortage of graphical outputs and log data listings. The testing results indicate that the communication delay does not exceed 500 ms, as stated in the Results chapter. Based on this discussion, the developed concept appears to be functional and well applicable. The formal aspects of the thesis are relatively good, though the quality of some figures could be improved. Additionally, there is an incorrect reference to a chapter on page 31. The use of literary sources aligns with the focus of the thesis. Overall, I evaluate the thesis as successful. The student has demonstrated a strong understanding of the subject matter. Therefore, I recommend the thesis for final defense and propose an evaluation of 90 points / grade A.
