| Informace k zadání | The thesis was related to development of method for analysis of brain EEG signals that could detect patterns of digital addiction. The work was challenging because of the complexity of brain EEG signals and requirement to understanding of brain anatomy and physiology. The student developed a deep learning method to assess brain EEG signals and classify the digital addiction. The resulting outputs are satisfactory and all the requirements of the thesis were met. | ||
| Práce s literaturou | The student reviewed many existing methods and techniques to detect digital addiction from brain EEG signals. Chapter 2 provides details of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, and the various parts and functions of the brain affected by digital addiction. Chapter 3 discusses EEG fundamentals while chapter 4 provides details of digital addiction and the existing techniques for detection of digital addiction using brain EEG signals. The chapter provides the summary of gaps in the existing methods too. | ||
| Aktivita během řešení, konzultace, komunikace | The student had a positive attitude and started working on the topic in the winter semester of 2024. I had weekly meetings with the student and he regularly came for the meetings. He was active and worked hard. He was generally well prepared for the meetings. | ||
| Aktivita při dokončování | The student regularly consulted me before the submission of the thesis. The work was challenging because of the complexity of brain EEG signals which include many electrodes and requires extensive pre-processing. Also, there is a learning curve as it’s a multidisciplinary topic. The student was able to complete all the development in time and was able to submit the thesis within the give timeframe. | ||
| Publikační činnost, ocenění | The student has developed the method and the code is submitted along with the thesis. |
You did a solid job with the experiments and implementation—it’s clear you put in real effort there. The literature review could be a bit stronger and more detailed though. Also, using machine learning instead of deep learning might have worked better because of the small data. Keep working on these areas, and with some guidance, your work can definitely get to the next level.

| Náročnost zadání | This assignment was fairly challenging, so a few small mistakes are okay. Since the topic is moderately difficult, I’m a bit lenient with minor issues. Because the work is on the tougher side, some imperfections are understandable. | ||
| Rozsah splnění požadavků zadání | The assignment mostly meets the requirements, but there are a few small things that could be better. For example, it would have made more sense to use machine learning instead of deep learning for this project. | ||
| Rozsah technické zprávy | The report looks good overall, and 55 pages is a solid length—not too short, not too long. The literature review could use a bit more depth, but the implementation and experiment sections are really strong and well explained. | ||
| Prezentační úroveň technické zprávy | 86 | The report is pretty well put together and easy to follow. The chapters connect well, so it doesn’t feel jumpy. The literature review could be a bit clearer and more detailed, but the parts about implementation and experiments are really well explained and easy to understand. Overall, it’s a solid presentation that gets the point across without confusing the reader. | |
| Formální úprava technické zprávy | 89 | The typographical and linguistic quality of the report is very good. The student clearly explained the functionality of each feature using formulas and provided proper diagrams, which makes the content easy to understand. | |
| Práce s literaturou | 83 | The student picked good sources that really connect to the topic and assignment. They covered the important research out there and didn’t just repeat what’s already been done. | |
| Realizační výstup | 89 | The solution works well and does what it’s supposed to. The documentation is clear, and the testing seems thorough. | |
| Využitelnost výsledků | The results are okay but not strong enough to publish right now, mostly because deep learning was used with not enough data. If the student had used machine learning, it might’ve turned out better. With some guidance and extra work, they can definitely make it better and maybe even get something published later on. |
