Mr. Novák’s Bachelor’s thesis focuses on the past and present space missions to the planet Mercury--i.e. the Messenger and BepiColombo missions, and outlines the differences between them. The author gives a comprehensive description of their missions, comparing the different technology and the scientific results gained from each mission. Mr. Novák has done excellent research for his thesis, as seen in his wide variety of sources in his bibliography. Moreover, he uses these apt and pertinent sources and explains the technology and aims of each mission, given the timeline of each mission (i.e. the scientific space technology of the 1970s is not the same as 2010s technology). Mr. Novák also provides several Figures in his paper, which provides, among others, visual evidence of the payload, instruments, and data on their payload characteristics. Finally, after giving detailed information on the Messenger and BepiColombo mission in chapters 2 and 3, the author gives an excellent summary of the differences between these two missions. Therefore, Mr. Novák has fulfilled the aims of his thesis. As for the grammar, vocabulary and style of this paper, the author presents a very clear and clean paper. The grammar and spelling is near excellent, even though there is the occasional error in the paper. For example, on p. 26, no. 2, the conjunctions "and however" sounds is both wrong. The style used in this paper is very clear and cleanly written, making it much easier for the reader to understand the information presented. However, Mr. Novák, who presents 10 different Figure in the text, only refers to one of them in his text (Fig. 10 on p. 39). There is no need for the writer with a number of figures to refer to each one within the text, but Figure 4 on p.19, for example, should have had a sentence describing the total payload mass of 47.2 kg. being less than the maximum limit allowed of 50 kg. Finally, the reference were well near excellent, with the author on forgetting to add "pp." to represent the pages in his references. Therefore, Mr. Novák's thesis is deserving of his final mark, 92%/A.
Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zabývá vesmírnými misemi Messenger a BepiColombo na planetu Merkur. Autor práce provedl rešerši dostupných informačních zdrojů, tj. literatury, odborných elektronických databází a webových stránek vědeckých orgnizací, a tím shromáždil dostatek dat a informací, aby získal přehled v tématu BP. Rešerše byla zaměřena na sběr dat, která se týkají nejen cílů vesmírné mise a jejího časového harmonogramu, ale také technických parametrů a konstrukcí sond. Autor logicky roztřídil získaná data podle výzkumných vesmírných misí na planetu Merkur tak, aby byly jeho prezentované informace dostatečně přehledné a následně využitelné ke srovnání obou misí. Tím prokázal, že je schopen se orientovat v dané problematice, což dokazuje kapitola 4, ve které autor shrnul a vyhodnotil všechny technické rozdíly mezi vesmírnými misemi podle parametrů daných v zadání BP. Formální úprava bakalářské práce je přehledná a logicky členěna na kapitoly. Autor dobře pracoval se zdroji a následně je dokázal citovat i v textu. Jazyková úroveň bakalářské práce je na velmi dobré úrovni s tím, že je zachován styl odborných publikací z oblasti vědy a techniky. Je třeba vyzdvihnout autorovu znalost specifické odborné slovní zásoby týkající se kosmonautiky. Práci doporučuji k obhajobě s hodnocením A (95 bodů).
