The diploma thesis deals with the automated design of a telescope-pointing model. In the first part of the thesis, the student theoretically describes the various types of mounts and, based on their mechanical imperfections, defines the error parameters for telescope alignment. This section takes the form of a literature review. In the second part, the student defines a numerical model and an algorithm for the automatic calculation of correction parameters and mount calibration. In the final part of the thesis, the model is validated using the Gaia DR3 database and real data obtained through measurements with the telescope. The thesis is written clearly and includes the source code of the functions used. However, some information is unnecessarily repeated throughout the text, for example, the description of the Alt-Azm mount. The description of the Python libraries used also seems redundant. Figures 2.3 and 3.7 are identical. During the development of the thesis, the student worked independently and regularly consulted the progress and results with Dr. Zigo from Astros Solution company.

The master thesis deals with investigation of pointing model for Equatorial telescope mounts. The main application is astronomy and astronomical observation. The objective is to develop model for provision and ultimately correction of the main telescope pointing inaccuracy contributors. Mr. Hamran approaches the topic from the beginning of the thesis in a very professional manner, whilst communicating in a transparent way that the thesis is driven by industrial request and needs. This results in a slight bias towards the studied type of mount with some disadvantages being neglected, such as limited size and weight of measurement equipment mounted on the telescope. Also, the Chapter 2 is structured in a way that makes it somewhat hard to follow the reasoning resulting in questions below. Also, a few parameters were not introduced (unclear meaning and difference between H_c and H_o) Overall, the thesis shows the candidate knows how to approach a problem with a mind of an engineer and elaborate a solution that can be directly used in a system. The comments above and questions below shall be understood as pointers for improvement and encouragement. Assuming this was achieved in a span of a few months, some minor flaws in the documentation are understandable.
